DOES YOUR TOOTHACHE KEEP YOU UP AT NIGHT?
DENTAL EXTRACTIONS
Somtimes a tooth must be removed due to infection, trauma or crowding, ect. After the tooth is removed, it can be replaced with an implant, bridge or denture.
RIDGE PRESERVATION
WHY RIDGE PRESEVATION AFTER EXTRACTION?
Dr. Leann recommends Ridge Preservation the same day a tooth is removed. Ridge preservation can help support the remaining bone for future restorations. The bones surrounding our teeth keep them in place and give our jaw integrity. When a tooth is removed it leaves a hole in this bone. Because this bone is very thin after an extraction it will collapse. Ridge preservation is designed to support this thin bone for the first year while the body grows new bone in its place. Without ridge preservation, the bone will shrink and flatten. This may make dentures or implants hard to fit.
After a tooth has been extracted due to fracture or infection there are options to replace the missing tooth or teeth.
