RESTORE YOUR SMILE WITH DENTAL IMPLANT!
The design of a dental Implant is to replicate a natural tooth to restore its look and function. A natural tooth is one piece commonly described as having two main parts: One part is the crown that sits above the gums ( crown). The second part is a root that sits securely in your jawbone( implant).
Why do we need to preserve bone after tooth is lost? Without adequate volume of bone, we would be able to place an dental implant that would last.
Computer Guided Implant Placement
Having the state of the art technology in our office enable us to provide comfortable and safer dental treatments to our patients. One the procedure that we are excited to offer to our patients is Computer Guided Implant Placement. Dental implants allows us to replace missing teeth closet to patient’s nature teeth to restore chewing function, preserve the bone and maintain facial structure.
The treatment process requires a Cone Beam CT scan and an intra- oral scan of the patient for hard and soft tissue evaluation. This allow Dr. Leann and the lab to determine the best and safest position of the implant placement and restore the crown on top of the implant. Finally, Surgical Guide will be fabricated and used during the surgery to ensure the desirable result.
Why Computer Guided Implant Surgery?
- Cone Beam CT scan ( 3-D imaging ) and intra-oral scan allow Dr. Leann to treatment plan to achieve a more predictable, safe, accurate, and optimal implant placement with a Surgical Guide.
- 3-D images can show the thickness and height of bone, vital structures, root anatomy of adjacent teeth, abnormalities when planning for implant placement
- Take the guessing work out of the treatment planning, surgery and restorative stage
- Detailed treatment planning will prevent unexpected events during surgery and restorative stage
- Achieve a more precise, accurate, predictable and desirable surgical result
- Faster surgery time
- Allow the dentist to have a more precise, smaller, atraumatic surgical site
- Smaller incision or might not even need to raise a flap ( FLAPLESS surgery)
- Faster healing, lower risk of infection and less post-op complications can result from minimally traumatic or flapless surgery
- Achieve a more accurate, predictable and desirable surgical and restorative result
SINGLE TOOTH IMPLANT
Single tooth implants are an excellent choice for replacing one or more teeth.
The first step is determining if the bone where the teeth/tooth is missing is thick enough to support an implant. This is accomplished by taking a Cone Beam CT and intra-oral scan. If there is sufficient bone integrity, this scan is also used create a Computer Guided Surgical Template. Dr. Leann will use your customized surgical guide for the implant surgery. It enables precise implant placement to ensure the best outcome.
The next phase is Single Tooth Implant placement. The “root” portion of the implant is placed in the jaw first and allowed to settle for 3-6months. When the “root” portion of the implant is stable a crown is cemented or screwed on top of the implant. With the crown the tooth has been fully replaced. The completed Single Tooth Implant will look and function just like natural tooth.

IMPLANT- SUPPORTED AND IMPLANT-RETAINED DENTURE
When full dentures are difficult to wear implant supported or retained dentures become necessary. An Implant -supported or Implant- retained denture is an excellent choice for a full denture with more security. AT LEAST TWO implants are required for a REMOVABLE Implant-RETAINED denture. The first step is determining if the jawbone is thick enough to support the implants. This is accomplished by taking a CBCT 3D scan with our ORTHOPHOS 3D machine .
The “root” portion of the implants are placed in the jaw first and allowed to settle for 3-6months. When the “root” portion of the implant is stable abutments are placed on top. The abutments connect the implants to the gaskets on the underside of the denture.
An FIXED OR REMOVABLE Implant-SUPPORTED denture is screwed to four to eight OR MORE implants. It is unscrewed and cleaned by Dr. Leann on a regular basis. Because it is screwed to the implants it is very secure.
